Halloween Food Ideas “Tasty Cobwebs” Funnel Cakes
Spiders creeping
Monsters sleeping
underneath your bed
Distract them with a tasty treat–
this yummy spider web!
1 egg
¾ cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1¼ cup flour
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 qt. oil
Heat oil in an electric fry pan to 400 degrees. Oil should be ½ inches deep. Beat egg and milk. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add to egg mixture and beat until smooth. Using a squeeze bottle (you can purchase them at Wal-Mart in the cake decorating department) or small pitcher , squeeze or pour batter into the oil from the center out into a web pattern. If batter is too thick add a little more milk. Cook until brown, turn and cook on the other side. Place on paper towel (to drain oil) and immediately sprinkle with powdered sugar. Repeat cooking webs until the batter is gone. Watch closely as they brown quickly.
Transfer webs to a festive Halloween plate to serve. Add a big gummy spider to the web for maximum effect. This dessert will surely trap your guests!
